Home About Us Admissions

Admissions

Children may join the Nursery in the September following their 3rd birthday.

Parents may place their child’s name on our Nursery waiting list at any time before this. They will be contacted by the school about six months before their child is due to start. A programme of meetings and visits is organised to ensure that children and their parents are familiar with the school before they start. In order that children settle quickly into Nursery, we stagger admissions to ensure that only a few new children start at a time.

30 Hour Offer

Ivybridge Primary school offers extended Nursery hours for eligible parents. All three and four year olds (in the September following their third birthday) are entitled to up to 15 hours of free childcare and early education a week for up to 38 weeks a year. Eligible working families are now also entitled up to an additional 15 hours – 30 hours in total. Children can access these entitlements in school nursery classes, private day nurseries, pre-school playgroups and with childminders. Our school Nursery offers these additional hours.

Please visit http://fsd.hounslow.gov.uk to check your eligibility.  If you would like to speak to someone regarding Nursery admissions please call the school on 0208 8912727.  If you would like to apply for a nursery place please complete the application form and return it to school with a copy of your child’s birth certificate/passport and a recent council tax letter as proof of address.

Children who attend the Nursery are not guaranteed a Reception place the following year. They must apply for admission to the Reception class.

Children may join the Reception class in the September following their 4th birthday. Children are admitted to Reception classes according to the criteria published by the Local Education Authority. We admit a total of 30 pupils into our Reception year class.

At first the children will attend for half a day only, progressing to full-time attendance over a few weeks. This ensures that they settle quickly and happily into full-time schooling.

Children may be admitted into school at any time during the school year providing there are vacancies within the appropriate year group.

All admissions other than for Nursery pupils are co-ordinated by the Local Authority and any applications for admissions into the school (other than Nursery) should be made to the Admissions Department at the Civic Centre, Lampton Road, Hounslow,
